Our long experience and the expertise has helped us to extend this test to other Management Institutes. There are 60 other Management Institutes who are selecting students from XAT 2009. Procedure for Obtaining XAT Bulletin from AXIS Bank and XAT Registration
| Procedure for Obtaining XAT Bulletin from AXIS Bank and XAT Registration | |
| 1. | A candidate can obtain XAT Bulletin from select branches of AXIS Bank on payment of Rs. 800/- (Rupees eight hundred only) |
| 2. | Registration for XAT 2009 The candidate has to visit the website www.xlri.edu and go to XAT Registration. Here he/she has to fill in the online XAT form. The information to be provided includes XAT Bulletin No, date, AXIS Bank branch name and personal details. After online submission the candidate will immediately get his/her XAT ID and password. |
| 3. | Once the candidate provides the application details for XAT associate institute he/she can proceed to take printout of XAT Payment Advice cum Photo Form (XAT PP Form). |
| 4. | The candidate has to paste his/her recent photograph and put full signature in the designated space provided on the XAT PP Form. The candidate has to enclose the third copy of the bank ( XAT) pay-in-slip along with the completed XAT PP Form in the special envelope provided in the XAT Bulletin and send it by registered post / speed post / courier within a week of obtaining the XAT Bulletin. Mention your XAT ID and name on the reverse of the Bank pay-in-slip. The last date for receiving the XAT PP Form at XAT office, XLRI Jamshedpur is December 05, 2008. |
| 5. | The candidate has to keep a copy of the printout of XAT ID and password for any modifications to personal details, taking a printout of XAT 2009 Admit Card and for any correspondence with the XAT Office. |
| 6. | The candidate has to go online to www.xlri.edu anytime during during December 18, 2008 and January 1, 2009 and take a print out of the XAT 2009 Admit Card where the Address of the Test Centre will be mentioned. |

| 1. | A Candidate has to make a demand draft drawn in favour of "XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT" for Rs. 850/- (Rupees eight hundred fifty only) payable at Jamshedpur. |
| 2. | Registration for XAT 2009 The candidate has to visit the website www.xlri.edu and go to XAT Registration. Here he/she has to fill in the online XAT form. The information to be provided includes demand draft number, date and personal information. After online submission the candidate will immediately get his/her XAT ID and password. |

First impression of XAT 2009
The paper consisted of 3 sections: Quantitative Aptitude+Data Interpretation (38 questions), Verbal Ability +Logical Ability (35 questions) and Analytical Reasoning +Decision Making (31) questions – a total of 104 questions, which was lower than last year’s 120.
As expected the paper was on the tougher side. Nonetheless it was balanced across the sections. There were few questions, which were ambiguous but all in all the paper was on the expected lines and resembling XAT 2008.
The topic for the essay was “The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries”
Expected Cut-off for XLRI (BM) QA+DI: 9.0, AR+DM: 7.5, VA+LA: 9.0 Overall: 34-35
